It’s time to get back to the basics.

Arlington is home.

The challenges of the last year have led the people of Arlington to think hard about many things. Events have caused us to change the way we work, the way we interact with people, and to adapt in many other ways. But some things — things that make Arlington our home —have not changed.  We still want safe neighborhoods, lower property taxes, and a city that listens and responds to the people whose hard-earned money funds it. I have devoted myself to being YOUR voice at City Hall for the last two years, making Arlington work for YOU, and I am committed to continuing that work if re-elected. My cell phone number is 817.366.8810.

Lower Taxes

I promised to work to lower your property taxes, and I am proud to have voted twice to lower our property tax rate.  But I know more needs to be done. I will keep working to ensure the city supports local businesses and promotes the success of our city’s economic engines so I can vote again this year to lower that rate even more.

Support our police and reduce crime

The core function of city government is keeping our families and neighborhoods safe. I will keep working to ensure Arlington’s police are able to protect all of us even more effectively, and that they communicate closely with all our neighborhoods. Arlington police officers are among the finest in the country, and I will continue supporting them so they can work and serve you well every day.

Promote fiscal responsibility

As a life-long fiscal conservative, I will continue to advocate for a responsible city budget. I will continue treating the city’s budget as carefully as I do my family’s and law firm’s — I know it’s your money. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, I worked with city staff to identify budget cutbacks the city could make as the economy slowed and sales tax revenue went down. This protected important city services, avoided additional pressure to raise property taxes, and positioned us to recover from this crisis.

support business recovery from pandemic and winter storm

The City must do everything in its power to assist businesses of all sizes in re-opening and recovering from the pandemic and winter storm — this includes fast-tracking permits, ensuring regulations are friendly to re-opening safely, enhancing city services that allow businesses to operate, and acting as a resource for, and not a barrier to, business. More and better business activity reduces tax pressure on you

Get back to the basics

Arlington’s big projects get the headlines and generate money to benefit us all, but my priority is working on basic services for tax-paying residents. My work at city hall focuses on supporting you every day in your home- repairing potholes, rebuilding and repairing streets, addressing neighborhood concerns, strengthening our water system, and fixing flooding problems. I’m proud to have worked with city staff to create the City’s first comprehensive stormwater drainage plan — it may not get headlines, but it’s important work to protect Arlington residents. Since I was elected, Arlington has added nearly 5,000 jobs, repaired over 25,000 potholes, and worked on over 280,000 feet of city roads, but I know there is much more to be done.  I ask for your vote and support so I can keep Arlington working for you.
